Technical description of the GRP tanks production line
The tank production equipment is designed to produce GRP tanks, both horizontal and vertical, for buried and above ground applications. The supplied equipment enables the production of GRP tank diameters 1000, 2000, 3000 and 4000 mm with capacity from 1 m3 to 150 m3 depending on pipe length.
Brief production process description
Tank cylinders are produced either on a discontinuous or continuous filament winding line and reinforced with parallel and/or cross-filament winding of roving impregnated with resin.
The tank cylinder (GRP pipe) is transferred to the motorised support and it is assembled with end caps using internal joining rings. End-caps are then fixed to the cylinder by applying roving impregnated with resin. The cylinder reinforcement process is then carried out on a dedicated winding machine and performed with synchronisation of tank rotation speed and a horizontally moving carriage delivering raw materials.
At the end of the self-curing process, the tank is ready for installation of any required connectors and/or fittings.
